Welcome to Wizards and Wands. My blog dedicated to the residents of my miniature village and houses. Here you will find tales from the characters in my 12th scale houses and shops and some of my favourite miniature wands and possessions. A little bit of fun from a magical, but rainy Wales x

The 'Littlest toyshop' and a Happy New Year

In the lead up to Christmas, I had a little break from my 24th scale adventure and did some work on my 12th scale  'Littlest Toyshop'

I used a shop box kit which I had decorated previously and I added some barewood shelving which I painted to coordinate with the walls.

After adding some tiny picot trim to the shelf edging (not something I enjoyed or would recommend as it soooo fiddly) I then started the fun part of adding toys :)

Over the years, I have collected quite a few toys with the aim of one day doing a toyshop project, so it is lovely to see them all unwrapped and sitting in their very own little shop. Florence, my lovely old lady stands behind the counter with her cup of tea in her pink china cup.

My little collection of bears sit proudly beside and in front of the counter and over the years, I have collected a couple of lovely needle felted bears....

....... and a crochet bear.

This is the shop as it looks today and I am very pleased with how it has all come together. There is also a little space left for some tiny toys which I will no doubt continue to pick up along my way at dolls house fairs :)

Getting these out has inspired me to plan a new project and in 2014, I will begin renovating an old shop purely for Bears. I will share my progress here as I jump between my and 12th and 24th scale projects.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year
